Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition PAC Endorses Scott Tipton for U.S. Congress
COLORADO SPRINGS- The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition Political Action Committee today endorsed Scott Tipton for U.S. Congress in Colorado’s Third Congressional District in contradiction to the endorsement of the National Rifle Association.
Last week the NRA endorsed Congressman John Salazar who voted for gun-control advocate Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House. While Salazar has generally been good on Second Amendment issues, the most important vote he cast on gun rights in this session of Congress was to elect an anti-gun Speaker of the House.
“Scott Tipton has been a leader on gun issues in the Colorado legislature,” said Jeff Crank, President of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition. “While Salazar has expressed support for the Second Amendment he has shown willingness to vote for and support leaders in Congress who are decidedly anti-Second Amendment. Colorado can do better by electing Scott Tipton to the U.S. Congress.”
“Unfortunately, the NRA has chosen to play it safe and endorse incumbents but that won’t advance the ball when it comes to firearms ownership,” said Crank. “While the NRA has done great work in protecting our Second Amendment rights, they are dead wrong in their endorsement of Salazar. Can any honest gun owner claim that Salazar would be better in Congress on gun rights than Scott Tipton?”
The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, founded in 2003 is dedicated to helping protect and defend the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution which protects an individual's right to keep and bear arms in defense of their home, person, and property and to protect against a tyrannical government.
